We are thrilled that 5 women artists from Bábbarra Women’s Centre are coming to Paris for their new exhibition Jarracharra: dry season wind / Les vents de la saison sèche which opens on the 3rd of October at the Australian Embassy in Paris.

The exhibition will showcase a powerful collection of Aboriginal women’s textile art from Bábbarra Women’s Centre in the Maningrida region of Western Arnhem Land, Australia.

It’s not the first time art from Bábbarra Women’s Centre has been exhibited in Paris. We were fortunate enough to display their work for the exhibition Ngaldjorlhbo | Mother of Everything | Mère de Toute Création last year. But it is the first time the women will visit Paris after a long process acquiring their first Australian passports.

We can’t wait to welcome the Bábbarra women to Paris!
