Open on Thursday 5 September 2013, the exhibition ‘Desert Mob’ at the Araluen Arts Centre is accompanied by a symposium:

Friday 6 September
10.30am – 3.30pm | Symposium | Desert Mob Symposium: A unique celebration of Aboriginal art and culture.

Desert Mob Symposium brings artists from Desart member art centres together with special guests for a day of inspiring stories and remarkable projects. This year’s line-up includes presentations from Warakurna Artists, Martumili Artists, Ernabella Arts, Ikuntji Artists, Mimili Maku Arts, Ngurratjuta / Many Hands Art Centre, Ikuntji Artists and Tjanpi Desert Weavers, with special guest Yhonnie Scarce. This vibrant program takes the theme of ‘Faces, Places, Spaces’ which explores the place and power of art in bringing people together.

The Symposium’s program includes the following presentations:
