Recent acquisitions added to Your Collection, Western Australia’s greatest visual art asset at The Art Gallery of Western Australia.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia launches an exhibition that highlights its treasured acquisitions over the past two years.

The Collection of the Art Gallery of Western Australia brings together works from local, national and international artists including Pippin Drysdale, Daniel Walbidi, Blanche Tilden, Dino Martens, Brent Harris, Ethel Spowers, Gulumbu Yunupingu and Joy Hester. Some of these recent acquisitions are on display at the gallery until 27 October 2013 for the first time.

As the Gallery’s Director, Stefano Carboni, says, “The Gallery’s thoughtful and focused aspiration to build and maintain the finest public art collection in this State for today’s and future generations is of the utmost importance. Every year we add works to the existing collection that highlight current practices and expand our historical holdings. I hope you find inspiration in these works of excellence.”
