While it showcases the dominant focus of Corrigan’s acquisitions since 2008 – arguably also the current focus of a majority of contemporary academics, curators and collectors of Indigenous art alike – it is not intended to be a survey publication, for Corrigan only buys what he loves. Power + Colourshowcases many artists of renown alongside emerging artists, such as Akay Koo’oila from Cape York Peninsula, who, at 87 years of age, picked up a brush for the first time to record reflections of her country.
