Eora means \u2018the people\u2019 in the Gadigal language, so the Eora Journey is \u2018the people\u2019s journey\u2019.\u2028\u2028The project is guided by the City of Sydney\u2019s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Panel, made up of local community members. \u2028\u2028The key Eora Journey projects are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Recognition in the Public Domain (seven major public art projects);<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 An Aboriginal Knowledge and Cultural Centre;<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 A major annual event; and<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 An economic development plan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The City consulted widely with the community when developing our Sustainable Sydney 2030 vision, and the feedback called for better recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage.
