Including three artists from the Tjanpi Desert Weavers artist cooperative, the FITE – Biennale textile “PLAY” travels to Brazil.

A unique event of its kind organised every 2 years, the FITE – Biennale Textile honours both traditional craftsmanship, threatened by globalisation, and the creativity of contemporary artists using textile as a medium.

For its 7th edition in 2024, the FITE – Biennale Textile chose “PLAY” as its theme, because play is a space and a time apart from everyday life, with its own rules and its own limits, which encourages the explo- ration of other ways of relating to oneself, to others and to the environment. It produces pleasure, educational value, emancipating energy, an exercise in reason and strategy. It fosters creativity, problem-solving skills, divergent thinking and the development of new ideas.
