Timera Frank is part of the art center Martumili Artists.
I was born here in Newman in 2001, but I grew up in Jigalong. I’ve lived there my whole life with my family. I did my schooling there, but now I shit[ed] to Newman in 2019 with my parents.
I started painting here at Martumili in 2021. My aunty Thelma [Judson] taught me how to paint. I paint about the desert, the wildflowers there, the bush, and Jigalong. I work here at Martumili too, fill up the paints, do all the paintbrushes, and help my grandmothers Roma [Gibson] and Kumpaya [Girgirba].”
